Align to Signs

Astrological_sm2I discounted astrology most of my life.  However, Jin Shin Jyutsu® (JSJ) acupressure connects diverse attributes: colors, musical notes, elements, planets, tastes, odors, days of the week, fingers, organs, seasons, stressors, as well as astrological signs.  So before I headed to Kauai, Hawaii in February 2010 to study with Wayne Hackett, a JSJ teacher known for his astrological emphasis, I took a local astrology course “just to learn the terminology.”  As with so many beliefs on my spiritual journey, what I discredited became something I valued.  The planetary placements at my birth explain much, even why choosing math and science made sense for me!  I entered the Wayne Hackett’s class with an opened mind.

I leave vast field of astrology to the experts but leverage what pertains to Jin Shin Jyutsu.  For example, each astrological sign pairs with a particular JSJ organ function which supports you your entire lifetime.  Repeatedly I notice the appropriateness of astrologically-based flows.  An Aries with a chronic autoimmune disease who as a toddler lost her mother finds herself unexpectedly grieving decades later (lung harmonizes grief and the immune system), a Pisces with a physically punishing job finds himself irate over corruption and greed (liver addresses anger as well as an “used and abused body”), and I, a Leo, dancing all my life with perfectionism find solace in the heart flow (heart harmonizes pretense and critical thoughts).  In each case the harmonizing effects listed here describe only a subset of what each organ flow addresses.

Here are the signs and associated JSJ Flows:

Fire Signs – Aries (Lung), Leo (Heart), Sagittarius (Diaphragm)

Earth Signs – Taurus (Large Intestine), Virgo (Small Intestine), Capricorn (Umbilicus)

Air Signs – Gemini (Stomach), Libra (Bladder), Aquarius (Gallbladder)

Water Signs – Cancer (Spleen), Scorpio (Kidney), Pisces (Liver)

Jin Shin Jyutsu® Organ Function Self-Helps You can gently hold the points for thirty-six out-breaths and in-breaths, for a fixed length of time, or until it feels “done.”

  1. This reminds me (again!) how I nourish my entire body and spirit when I breathe. Under stress, my tendency is to hold my breath (something my Aries body desperately needs). Thank you for the timely reminders.

    • Hi Joanne,
Astrology intrigues me with its myriad connections and the vast historical “database” it encompasses. I’ll bet you’d find great food for thought in it and perhaps it could make an appearance in your fiction as well!

I’m inferring from what you wrote you’re a Libra? Fascinating, isn’t it?

Thanks as always for your interest and comment,
      Christy
